REFILLING REUSABLE CONTAINERS IS A CHANGE THE PLANET NEEDS
Only 1 out of 5 bottles are ever recycled.1
Plastic bottles take over 1,000 years to biodegrade. Over 80% of all single-use water bottles in the U.S. become litter.1
U.S. landfills are overflowing with 2 million tons of single-use water bottles.1
17 million barrels of oil are used to produce a year’s supply of single use plastic water bottles.2
Glacier Water utilizes local municipal water sources to filter and dispense water at a retail store close to home. This “locally sourced” model reduces the environmental footprint by eliminating the storage and transportation of prepackaged products. We don’t bottle and redistribute water – it is sold and consumed locally.
Glacier Water eliminates wasted energy, water and fuel associated with shipping pre-packaged water from manufacturing plants to distribution centers and on to retail stores throughout North America. According to the EPA, it can take up to 2.5 gallons of water to refine 1 gallon of fuel.3 Transporting prepackaged beverages consumes a lot of energy and the water used to create it.
